Ensure Your Modem is NBN Compatible
Make sure your modem can support the latest optic fibre technology and is compatible with the NBN access network. Fix My Antenna can advise you on the different types of NBN modems that are available. Also ensure your modem is placed in an open, central area away from solid walls and furniture.
Update Old Hardware and Software
Old computers and software won’t work as fast new technology, or they may use superseded WiFi standards. Where possible, upgrade your equipment and install the latest software updates.
Upgrade Your Home Wiring
Your NBN connection box needs to be connected to the first Telsta telephone socket in your home. Your NBN speed is likely to be degraded where you have several Telstra phone sockets in your home, or where devices are still connected to these old sockets.
It’s a good idea to have your wiring assessed by Fix My Antenna. And we can then install faster data cables where required.
Connect devices in your home via a fast ethernet network
Connect your gaming consoles, streaming devices and other equipment that requires large amounts of data directly to a Cat5e or Cat6 ethernet cable.
